The following is a list of our Prep Programs. Programs are available for Bachelor degrees in English and German, as well as for Master degrees in German.

Bachelor Prep Program English - Technology (T-Kurs)

This program prepares you for a Bachelor's degree in the department of technology such as engineering, IT, or architecture.

This program contains

  • Subject courses in
    • Mathematics: Elementary mathematics, curve sketching, integration, extreme value problems
    • Computer Science: Number systems, propositional logic, circuits in computers, principles of computer composition, system software, programming in python
    • Physics: Statics, kinematics, and kinetics of rigid bodies, electromagnetic fields, DC circuits
  • Optional: Additional German language courses A1 - A2

Details

Regularly classes take place at BIC from Monday to Friday, (30 hours per week). For direct access for all students classes are available to start online.

Language of instruction: English
Examination: BIC final exams in all subjects (written and oral)
Program start: November of each year
Duration: 8 months
Tuition fees: 9,860 EUR

Requirements

  • Secondary school certificate (generally 12 years of school) with a grade of at least 50 % of the overall possible points. Applicable for most countries, please see more details on the DAAD's Database
  • English language level B2*. Accepted proof of English: TOEFL 72, IELTS 6, Cambridge, PTE Academic. We do not accept Duolingo Certificates, as the German embassies, as well as the foreign registration office Berlin, do not accept it as proof of English language.
  • Optional: German language certificate A1 for students wishing to participate in the German Language Course A2

*Applicants can also hand in their English Language Certificate later on, at the very latest 4 weeks before course start. Any applicant, who does not hand in their certificate at this point will be withdrawn from the program.

Applications are processed on a rolling basis throughout the year. In general, non-EU residents should apply as early as possible - preferably at least 3 months before program start. Applications can be handed in on shorter notice as well.

  • German language courses B1 - C1, if you do not hold a German C1 certificate. You will start with the German language level matching your previous German language experience.
  • Subject courses in
    • Mathematics: Elementary mathematics, curve sketching, integration, extreme value problems
    • Physics: Statics, kinematics, and kinetics of rigid bodies, electromagnetic fields, DC circuits, AC circuits
    • Computer Science: Number systems, propositional logic, circuits in computers, principles of computer composition, programming in python
    • Chemistry: Substances and mixtures, atom models, stoichiometry, chemical bonds, acids and bases, chemical reactions

This program prepares you for a Bachelor's degree in the department of business such as Business Administration, Economics, or Management.

This program contains

  • German Language Courses B1 - C1, if you do not hold a C1 German language certificate. You will start with the German language level matching your previous German language experience.
  • Subject courses in
    • Mathematics: Elementary mathematics, curve sketching, integration, extreme value problems
    • Economics: Markets, pricing, legal aspects, wages, competition and fiscal policy, monetary policy, internationalization
    • Business Administration: Strategic management, organizational structure, materials and production management, marketing, investing, internal/external accounting
    • Computer Science: Number systems, propositional logic, circuits in computers, principles of computer composition, programming in python
    • Business English C1: Working with factual texts/audio/video, discussing about a business subject

  • Conversational level in English (at least B2)
  • A recognized certificate (Goethe, telc, TestDaf, DSH) matching your previous German language experience (A2-B2) - according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)
