Program Options

The following is a list of our Prep Programs. Programs are available for Bachelor degrees in English and German, as well as for Master degrees in German.

Bachelor Prep Program English - Technology (T-Kurs)

This program prepares you for a Bachelor's degree in the department of technology such as engineering, IT, or architecture.

This program contains

  • Subject courses in
    • Mathematics: Elementary mathematics, curve sketching, integration, extreme value problems
    • Computer Science: Number systems, propositional logic, circuits in computers, principles of computer composition, system software, programming in python
    • Physics: Statics, kinematics, and kinetics of rigid bodies, electromagnetic fields, DC circuits
  • Optional: Additional German Language Classes levels A1-B1.

Details

Classes take place at BIC from Monday to Friday, (30 hours per week).

Language of instruction: English
Examination: BIC final exams in all subjects, written and oral.
Program start:  January of each year
Duration: 8 month
Tuition fees: 8,690€

Includes subject courses, examinations, course materials, and student services.
Optional German language classes: 1,200€ per language level.

Requirements

  • Secondary school certificate (generally 12 years of school) with a grade of at least 50 % of the overall possible points
  • Very good command of the English language: B1-C1 level  according to the Common European Framework (CEFR)

There is no fixed application deadline. Non-EU residents should apply as early as possible - regularly at least 3-6 months before program start. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, applications can be handed in on shorter notice.

Bachelor Prep Program English - Business (W-Kurs)

This program prepares you for a Bachelor's degree in the department of business such as Business Administration, Economics, or Management.

This program contains

  • German language courses levels A1 and A2 - if you do not hold a German language certificate. You will start with the German language level that matches your previous German language experience.
  • Subject courses in
    • Mathematics: Curve sketching and discussion, integration, probability distributions and stochastic models
    • Economics: Basics of economic policies, monetary theory and monetary policy, competitive conditions and corporate concentration
    • Geography: Geo-ecosystems: scarcity of resources, disparities: integration of developing countries into the global economy

Program start: June/August/October of each year, according to your German language level

This program prepares you for a Master's degree in any department. German language courses up to level C1 account for the majority of this program.

Requirements

  • Secondary school certificate (generally 12 years of school) with a grade of at least 50 % of the overall possible points
  • Bachelor's degree in the same department as the Master's degree you are applying for. GPA that converts to at least 2.5 in the German grading scale.
  • Good command of the English language
  • No previous German language knowledge required, unless visa specifications in your country state otherwise.
