Program Options

The following is a list of our Prep Programs. Programs are available for Bachelor degrees in English and German, as well as for Master degrees in German.

Bachelor Prep Program English - Technology (T-Kurs)

This program prepares you for a Bachelor's degree in the department of technology such as engineering, IT, or architecture.

This program contains

  • Subject courses in
    • Mathematics: Elementary mathematics, curve sketching, integration, extreme value problems
    • Computer Science: Number systems, propositional logic, circuits in computers, principles of computer composition, system software, programming in python
    • Physics: Statics, kinematics, and kinetics of rigid bodies, electromagnetic fields, DC circuits

Details

Regularly classes take place at BIC from Monday to Friday, (30 hours per week). For direct access for all students classes are available to start online.

Language of instruction: English
Examination: BIC final exams in all subjects (written and oral)
Program start: December of each year
Duration: 8 months
Tuition fees: 10,860 EUR

Requirements

  • Secondary school certificate (generally 12 years of school) with a grade of at least 50 % of the overall possible points. Applicable for most countries, please see more details on the DAAD's Database
  • General English language level achieved should be B2*. This is normally a requirement for the visa, and as such this document will be necessary for the visa application. Accepted proof of English by the embassies in general: TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge. Embassies and legal immigration offices normally do not accept Duolingo Certificates.
  • In case the applicant has not yet scheduled the language test at the moment of application, we encourage them to apply to BIC anyway, but they should apply for a test as soon as possible and and let us know of the date. We want to make sure that applicants will not have any problems with their visa applications later on.

This program prepares you for a Bachelor's degree in the department of business such as Business Administration, Economics, or Management.

This program contains

  • German Language Courses B1 + B2 + C1.
  • Subject courses in
    • Mathematics: Elementary mathematics, curve sketching, integration, extreme value problems
    • Economics: Markets, pricing, legal aspects, wages, competition and fiscal policy, monetary policy, internationalization
    • Business Administration: Strategic management, organizational structure, materials and production management, marketing, investing, internal/external accounting
    • Computer Science: Number systems, propositional logic, circuits in computers, principles of computer composition, programming in python

Master Prep Program German

This program prepares you for a Master's degree in any department. German language in levels B1, B2 and C1 account for the majority of this program, along with mathematics skills and DSH Preparation for the DSH Test.

This program contains

German language courses B2 + C1 + Math Preparation (Elementary Mathematics, Linear Algebra, Calculus) + DSH Preparation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in the same department as the Master's degree you are applying for. GPA that converts to at least 2.5 in the German grading scale.
  • Conversational level in English (at least B2)
  • A recognized certificate (Goethe, telc, TestDaf, DSH) matching German Language Knowledge A2, B1 or B2 depending on the intended start level at BIC - according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). NO AGE LIMIT FOR APPLICATIONS!
