    This English-taught Bachelor degree in Business and Engineering is open to all interested students who fulfil the academic entry requirements of the German higher education system.

    Mandatory Internship:

    6-week technical internship that should be completed before the start of studies and which has to be organised by the students themselves. In some exceptional cases it can be completed during the first two semesters. FHWS is willing to help the students find a partner company if necessary.     English Language Certification:
    • Valid TOEFL IBT® test result of at least 83 points (internet-based)
    • Valid IELTS test with at least 6.0 points
    • Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE) or Cambridge B2 First, minimum grade C
    • Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) or Cambridge C1 Advanced, minimum level B2
    • UNIcert® Certificate, minimum level II (UniCert® II)
    • English language certificates at the minimum level B2 obtained at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt

    Native speaker, as well as applicants, who hold an english-taught school-leaving qualification or study degree.

Career Prospects

A graduation in the field of Mechatronics at FHWS opens many doors to a fascinating career as an engineer. Potential employers are companies from industrial sectors like automotive, aerospace, robotics, manufacturing, material processing, energy systems, drives, printing, medical systems, and consumer products etc.

Degree Content

The first three semesters consist of the basic and foundation modules including Mathematics, Physics, Computing, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Mechanics, Microcomputer Systems, General Electives, Foreign Language etc. The fourth and fifth semester consist of the core modules like Measuring Techniques, Actuators, Control Systems, Logical Control, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, Design and Simulation of Mechatronic Systems etc. as well as the major electives which can be picked from a wide range of elective modules with direct industrial relevance to automation, robotics, power engineering, manufacturing and automotive sectors. The sixth semester is reserved for an internship and practice-related courses. In the last semester students will work on their engineering project and thesis in addition to lab courses and seminars.

Degree Structure

The study program consists of seven semesters including a practical semester and leads to a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.). In addition, students can study one semester abroad and/or write their thesis abroad. For further information please go to the study degree's website.
