Health Insurance

You have the option of either arranging health insurance yourself, or signing up with a provider recommended by BIC

You might need to arrange health insurance for at least the first phase of your stay in Germany before your appointment at the German Embassy. If so, this will be specified in their instructions. If you would like a recommendation on private health insurance, BIC recommends the Hanse Merkur, since only good experiences especially regarding the visa extension appointment have been made.

Hanse Merkur offers private health insurance packages for 51–69 Euro per month. For further details and/or an application form, write BIC student advising and enrollment at info/at/

Regardless of which option you choose and which rules apply to you, you will have to provide proof of your health insurance coverage upon your matriculation at BIC.
